The War goes on, American indifference reigns supreme

The United States is a nation of stark contrasts. We promote ourselves as compassionate and caring people, and yet we are utterly indifferent to the killing of thousands of innocent Iraqi and Afganistan people. Hell, despite our ridiculous magnetic signs, "Support our Troops", we are quite willing to sacrifice our children for reasons that change by the day. Osama? Nope. WMD? Nope. Iraqi Freedom? What's that. War on Terrorism? Fine, but Iraq has no connection to 9/11. Get rid of Saddam Hussein? That's isn't worth the price of single American life. Yet everyday our children and innocent Iraqi people are being killed, for no reason at all.

Yeah, get that right. NO REASON AT ALL. Iraq had nothing to do with September 11. Iraq had nothing to do with Al Queda. Iraq has nothing to do with a War on Terrorism. It is all Bogus. It is a pack of lies spewed out by tyrants to hornswoggle the American people into killing thier own children.

Today I saw on the news another 'good citizen', mouth the platitude of the day, as she discussed the death of her own son. "Well, freedom isn't free". Are you insane? What FREEDOM's are threatened by Iraq? None. None at all. Iraq has nothing to do with American freedoms of any sort. It is this blind bullshit that enables Americans to deny reality.

America is a place filled with demented stupid people who will swallow any lie told to them by authorities and will proceed to kill their own children without thought or question.

"We have allowed a president to send off the sons and daughters of the working class and the poor to invade Iraq, killing thousands of innocent Iraqi working class and poor along the way. As each day passes, the fact that no Osama has been flushed out, the fact that no weapons of mass destruction have been found, and the fact that there was never a tie between Saddam Hussein and 9/11 becomes not just Bush's responsibility but ours as well..." (Guzzle gas, and pretend. By Derrick Z. Jackson, Globe Columnist, 8/17/2005)

Curiously, as we send out children off to die, we are busy buying all the toys and trickets imaginable. At a time when gas and oil prices are going through the roof, foolish Americans are putting this roof on huge new homes.

"Even though the average size of the American family has shrunk, the average size of a new home has grown from an average of 983 square feet in 1950 to 2,330 square feet today, according to the National Association of Home Builders. The percentage of new homes over 2,400 square feet has zoomed from 10 percent in 1970 to 38 percent today. The percentage of new homes with two-car garages has grown from 39 percent in 1970 to 82 percent today." (Jackson, Globe, 8/17/05)

SUV's make up almost 50% of the new light duty truck sales and Bush has just exempted these vehicles from new fuel economy standard.

While thousands of people, including American men and women are dying, other Americans go blithly about their business of shopping, buying flat screen TV's, a new Hummer, and watching 'reality' programming. OH, yeah, they also put little colored ribbons on their gas guzzling SUV's proclaiming, "Support our Troops" and "God Bless America", as if this was their only responsibilty toward this slaughter. And, the American President, the guy responsible for this whole mess? Well, he's riding his bicycle on his ranch, while on a five week vacation.

"For all the talk of supporting the troops, they are a low priority for most Americans. If the nation really cared, the president would not be frolicking at his ranch for the entire month of August. He'd be back in Washington burning the midnight oil, trying to figure out how to get the troops out of the terrible fix he put them in..." (Blood runs red, not blue. Herbert, NYT)

Fortunately, there are also millions of us that think otherwise. There are millions of us who know the truth. There are millions of us who want this whole thing stopped and we want George W. Bush and his entire crew of insane assholes impeached. Unfortunately, we do not have control of the news media and we have do not have a centralized focus for action.

There are hundreds of groups across the country that despise this President and this war, but these groups are fractured and not working in concert. For anything to change, we who can see the truth need to organize and coordinate our efforts. We must gather together as Americans and demonstrate our strength and our numbers. Much like the Vietnam War when thousands of protestors marched and sang and protested. WE must do the same.

As for you morons that support this bullshit war and this asshole president, I suggest you gather your fat asses into military garb and report for duty. You want the fucking war, then go to it. But stop with your patriotic rhetoric and your assault on my rights as a citizen. I know this war is wrong and you don't. I will say what ever I damn well please.

George W. Bush, his lying syconphants and the clueless American supporters of this slaughter won't see the light until we shine the damn thing directly in their eyes.
